Google is constantly changing their metrics for ranking sites. SEO, navigability and ease of use are all key factors to the success of your brand.
As a marketer and content creator, you constantly need to keep up with changes to outrank in searches.
Is a site which is SEO (keyword) friendly, and mobile friendly still a top priority or, is a simple them with fast load times more important?
Regardless of what your niche is, if you want to rank on the first pages of search engines, you will need to make your site user-friendly.
These are a few ways in which you can do just that, and improve your ranking on search engine results pages.
Limit restrictions
You know those annoying popups that ask you to enter your email before going on a webpage?
Or those annoying banner ads forcing visitors to click a link to move forward?
Well these are things that restrict your page from being user-friendly and they might also be turning visitors away.
KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
Allow visitors to “checkout” as a guest, rather than having to create an account when shopping online. Or use popular payment providers like Shopify, Stripe or Paypal.
Reducing friction limits how much work they have to do when visiting your site and makes it more likely for them to buy from you in the future.
Lets say you operate a shopping site.
If you sell goods to consumers online, but do not ship to certain countries, clearly list this on the main page.
If you only accept Paypal as a payment form, inform visitors of this on the homepage. It not only limits visitor frustration (who can’t order after having gone through several steps to reach the checkout page), but lets visitors know what they will need to do before purchasing your products.
State it up front
Regardless of your niche, industry, or end-customer, the fact is that your website needs to be easy to navigate.
It has become a requirement.
In order to make your site a little easier to navigate and use, consider including a few of these features when designing your page.
